The Saio system is the 40th Emperor Tenmu. It was enacted in the reign of the Emperor Go-Daigo, and this system continued until the reign of Emperor Go-Daigo in the 96th generation. This Saio trip from Heiankyo to Ise Jingu for 5 nights and 6 days is called "Saio group line", and it is said that there are about 500 people at most. The place where Saio stayed is called "Tongu", and Tsuchiyama's Tarumizu Tongu is the only site that has been proven to be the site of Tongu. The Saio group is an event that is held to widely disseminate this precious historic site.

Sencha in Shiga Prefecture has a long history, with a history of about 1200 years.
However, the cultivated area is not so large, and the tea leaves that can be used as raw materials for Saio are even less and rare. It can be secured only by making it exclusively by contracting with the field of the own garden and the producer. And even more difficult is the combination (blend). The prototype of the taste of Saio no Sato was completed by Ankichi, the founder of Maruyasu Tea Industry.
